Devlog 16 - 14/06/2024
Hello, everyone!
May was... God. It was a stressing month :D That's why I didn't even try to write this Devlog last week.
Personal-life wise, there was SO MUCH GOING ON. I won't bore you all with details, but one of the things was that I had a course from 29 of May to 2 of June, happening in another brazilian state, and I was pretty much going insane with planning all for the trip and the course - where I had zero contact with the outside world because there's no cell phone signal in the place lololol (it was amazing, even if I barely thought of anything beyond what we were studying while there :D)
But it was in the middle of mountains, and there were stairs to reach the bathroom, and... Well, I really have a way better idea of how you may not have a fear of heights but still respectfully look at not-that-wide stairs with no handrails and with a lot of height between you and the ground down there, specially if you lack familiarity with such stairs lol. It will definitely help in my narrative for the Undead, since Chapter 2 will have scenes in the streets of Bravo, and, well, yeah, Bravo is made of so many stairs :D
BUT STILL. Despite the course, and other two trips I had to do to help my parents and another dozen things (studying for the test for the government test, the Norm Maclean fanfic... As I said, May was stressing lol)...
I FINISHED THE PASSAGE-BY-PASSAGE PLANNING FOR THE REST OF CHAPTER 2! And I already started working on the second event for the Undead.
I'll say, I'm really, really happy with the plans. As I said last devlog, there is the possibility of things changing in some way along the writing, but I have a way better notion now of which choices I'll write, where, how they influence, how they intertwine with the narrative, etc, instead of breaking my brain as I write. It also helped because there was a hidden stat I had planned to use, but as I wrote the plan, I noticed it was a very... Redundant one, because there's another stat that works better for what I want. So I cut it out.
At the same time... I noticed that I'll really need some other stats to track certain happenings and choices, ooops lolololol
Take this advice: if you intend to write an IF with lots of choices with multiple possibilities, it's really better to try and plan passage-by-passage so you know which choice goes where, which variation, and so on. At least for me, it will help immensely - and I say this as someone that usually makes very loose plans for my novels and such and they work... But they also don't deal in variations, so loose plans are fine for them lol
Besides, I would also like to say that all my short stories published on Amazon will be free on days 18 and 19 of June, because of my birthday :) Just search "Gabrielle Erudessa" there and it should appear. Most are still only available in Br-Pt, but two are available in English.
That's it for what happened in May. Hopefully next Devlog I'll have the Event 2 for the Undead written. A girl can dream lolololol
Thank you so much for the patience and all the support! Love you all and stay safe!
